It was my Dad’s first 71st Birthday Party (Dinner) tonight! I believe tomorrow night we are having another. Maybe we’ll get a third in on Sunday? Who knows? Probably my Mom. Mom’s know everything! Today I was supposed to do Back to Core for my Asylum workout. I got a good ride in instead. May do Back to Core in the morning and then do the Strength workout tomorrow evening after the kids go to bed? We’ll see how that works!

Last workout of 2012 and what a great workout it is. I forgot about how great this leg and back workout is from the first time I did P90X2. Basically Plyo and Pull-ups. I love that I am able to jump higher now. I really feel that I am getting do much more out of this workout now that I have completed Insanity: The Asylum. I am just able to get up off of the ground so much easier. I haven’t felt this light since I was playing Volleyball in High School. Probably jumping higher now than I was then too. How about that?

Tomorrow is a New Year’s Day ride with Kern Wheelmen that I am going to do. Since I am a triathlete and not used to riding in packs or a pace line, I hope I don’t cause an accident 😉 Since it is a Recovery + Mobility Day the ride will make the training day much more exciting. I am definitely going to need a good stretch after a 40 mile ride!

Insanity: The Asylum Vol. 1 – Day 9 of 30

So the I missed my post yesterday due to the festivities of Halloween. I wanted to make sure that I covered everything I ate. So this is how the day went:

Asylum 9/30

L – Submarine Sandwich, Italian Meats, Provolone, lettuce, Oil and Vinegar, Baked Chips Mineral Water with Lemon (This is like my soft drink!)
Workout – Vertical Plyo
S – P90X Results & Recovery Formula
D – Leftovers – Chicken Breasts and Peppers over a bed of Onions and Carrots (McCormick’s Montreal Chicken Seasoning), Pita Bread and Three Pepper Hummus
S – Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, Vanilla Ice Cream with Twix and Chocolate Sauce, Bowl of Lucky Charms, Handful of Sour Patch Kids. (Oh Halloween!)

I am sure you are looking at that last snack and saying to yourself – He sure does like his sweets! I don’t hide it! I love sweets. The sooner they are gone the better. And I hate to waste 😉

Vertical Plyo was a little easier for me this time. Still not the favorite workout for this runner, but necessary and helpful nonetheless. Getting that spring in my step is a definite plus! I didn’t do a second workout, but I will take care of that today! Looking forward to this Relief Day!

So one of the things that I do as part of the (in this case) 30 Day Challenge is I post everyday my workout, what I eat, and a little bit about how the workout felt or maybe just how I am feeling. In an effort to keep me more accountable, I am going to post here, what I post in the private forum. For those of you who don’t know, I am committed to completing Shaun T’s Insanity: The Asylum Vol. 1 and I just finished Day 7 today.

Not a good meal day! But….Pushed it on the workout. Kids helped! Chased me through the agility ladder! That brought a smile to my face!

Great workout day! Got back on my bike after almost being off of it for 4 weeks! Very Happy!
