I went to bed with last night with extremely sore legs and woke up with scared legs this morning. Have you ever just laid silently in bed when you first wake up knowing that you probably are going to be in some type of pain when you decide to move? Yeah, that was me. I expected my knee joints to be hating on me the first chance they got. Luckily when I stood up, besides having sore muscles (all of them) that felt like they had a really great workout, my joints felt great. I really think that my rumble roller session worked like a charm! Got in a swim today followed by a little hot tub time! Then I picked up the kiddos and we went to Camelot, played miniature golf, rode on Go-Carts, and took a couple bumper boats out too! The air was perfect today after the recent rains and the sun even poked out through the clouds a little bit too! The time with them was precious and perfect!

Dinner: Sushi (Nigiri, Assorted Fresh Rolls, Cucumber Salad)

Hot day today. Even though the thermometer didn’t go super high, it just felt hotter. So of course I went for a ride during the hottest part 🙂 ! I couldn’t find my Halo Headband so it wasn’t long before the stinging sweat started to hit my eyes – not very comfortable (or safe :-\ ), felt good to get out on the bike though – good saddle time – two short rides. So I wanted to eat better today and I did. I had a couple Shakeology shakes, some supplements, and Sushi! My recommendation on eating sushi? Sashimi, Nigiri, Fresh Rolls, and Vegetables in Rice Vinegar. Stay away from the fried rolls when possible. The meal will be high in sodium when eating rolls or dipping into the soy sauce with wasabi, so expect to retain some water, but all in all it was a healthy day!

Starting Beta Phase of Focus T25 tomorrow! Pretty excited to see what’s in store! Time to hit my rumble roller!

Good amount of physical activity today. I haven’t been eating the best but the activity is taking care of some of that. Only two weeks till USAT Nationals so the nutrition will be key over the next 13 Days. Lets see how I keep it under control.

Another thing that I can’t stress the importance of is recovery which includes nutrition, stretching, and myofascial release. In order to make sure that I am taking care of my muscles, joints, tendons, I use supplements that prepare my body and replenish my body with essential vitamins, minerals, sugars, and fats that help me to continually push my body to its limits. On top of the supplements, I also continually stretch and use my foam roller to tend to the hot spots and make sure that they are relaxed so they do not become an injury. Paying attention to how your body is reacting to the conditions of your exercise is key in knowing how to do what is necessary. One piece of advice that I can give is to listen to your body, put your ego aside, and ask questions so that you can get the best advice to keep yourself healthy and active!

Dinner: Birthday Party Faire – Tri Tip Slider, 2 Pollo Verde Tacos (flour tortilla), 7 Layer Dip, Vegetables, Chips, Salsa, Dips, Birthday Cake (Way too much Birthday Cake!)

Over-ate at dinner. Done in by Smith’s Bakery again. Too many Birthday cakes this month! I had never had their yellow cake before, and with the chocolate frosting, mmmm… That with some coffee and I was a very happy kid. I also got some time in on my rumble roller, which is always nice for sore muscle recovery – got a few hot spots rolled out! Painful but nice nonetheless. Needless to say, I definitely was carbo-loading and since I didn’t get a workout in, I’ll have to get that done tomorrow, maybe even add in some other fun sports as well 😉 !

I was sore today. Plyocide snuck up on me and bit my back side. The glutes definitely were tightened up! I love that even though I am in good leg shape from Insanity: The Asylum, it shows that doing different workout programs help to focus on different muscles (or maybe just the same muscles in different ways). Chalk up another win for muscle confusion! It was really nice to get on my bike today. Didn’t go fast or even that far, but I got to get out there and spin which aided in my active recovery for the day. Go Team Fityak!

Decided to do Plyocide this morning before breakfast. Didn’t bonk and was pretty happy about that! Ate a bit on the carb and fatty side so I’ll have to compensate for that tomorrow. I have been eating poorly for a while and started to feel it in the water with some minor foot cramping at around 1600 meters. Good reminder that feeding your body properly helps to increase your muscle endurance. I am going to spend a little time this evening rolling on my foam roller. Have you met my foam roller? And yes it really works!
