Rest Days

Isn’t it strange that rest days, vacations, or days off from work seem to be busier than our regular days?  Why is that?  Are we worried that we are not going to have enough time to get everything done that we want to?  Or do we set goals for ourselves that are unrealistic and ultimately leave us unfulfilled and exhausted?

Rest is an important part of the body and mind’s ability to put everything back into perspective.  It allows us to regroup, energize, and prepare to mount a new attack on the goals that we have set for ourselves in the days ahead.

The next time you plan a rest day, vacation, or day off from work, remember to breath, be good to yourself, and slow down your pace.  Enjoy life, go for a walk by yourself or with loved ones, be in the moment; you will notice the difference when it is time to face whatever it is that you were trying to get away from in the first place.
